One evening, Nethraa was playing ball with her cousin Varshini near the flat mandapam. In loads of enthusiasm Nethraa happened to throw the ball outside the flat. She rushed outside to grab the ball. The moment she picked the ball and turned to come inside the flat, she noticed something…..what that was…. A hurt pussy cat (kitten) lying on the foot path near the gate.
Cat was hurt in its leg and licking it to soothe the pain. Nethraa at once understood that something was wrong. So she immediately rushed to home and……..
Nethraa: Appa, come here I saw a kutty cat being hurt in its leg. We should help it.
Appa: Is it, come let’s go have a look. (Both came outside)
Nethraa: See pa, its leg is hurt, poor pussy cat
Appa: Yeah, so sad, come let’s take it to a veterinary doctor
Nethraa: Why can’t we take him to my Mohan doctor appa?
Appa: No dear, Mohan doctor is for you babies, for animals there is a different doctor ok.
Nethraa: So you mean animal doctor. Ok. Auto, stop………………….!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Both of them got into auto went to doctor nearby .Doctor came and applied medications to the kitten and it was all fine again, though doctor advised a proper night’s rest.
Appa: Let’s go call up BLUE CROSS where we can give this cat and they will take good care of it.
Nethraa: But appa, doctor said one night full rest, for which I think, our HOME is the best place for it.
Appa: But dear, we can’t have pets at our flat. It's not allowed.
Nethraa: Why…..???Just for one night too…??? (hwaaaaaaaaaaaaaan,, crying started)
Appa: Ok, let me talk to our flat secretary and get permission. I don’t think there should be a problem.
Nethraa got to enjoy that whole night with that small lovely pussy cat. She played and played and played with it at her home, all night through.
Finally both of them slept too, all tired. It was an unforgettable day for Nethraa
